WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is a process, co-created in the context of a mutually respectful and trusting relationship, through which the coach listens actively, asks powerful questions, reflects, challenges, teaches, and guides the client(s) in order to facilitate movement through a current personal or marital challenge and towards a desired transformational outcome. Coaching facilitates self-awareness, learning, growth, with an ultimate goal of transformation. Coaching aims to build self-efficacy, to empower the client to generate solutions, and to move the client closer to embodying their fullest potential as a person and a spouse.

AS YOUR COACH, I COMMIT TO:

Be on time for all sessions and begin and end sessions promptly
Be fully present and attentive during sessions
Create a safe and trusting environment for the client to question and discover
Listen fully to what the client says in language, body, and emotion…and inquire all three domains
Honor the client’s agenda while creating awareness, probing for possibilities, and helping the client create his/her future
Ask empowering, probing, and reflective questions with no agenda or judgment
Maintain confidentiality of all information and observations gathered regarding the client and organization, except as required by law
Invite feedback regarding my coaching approach, progress being made, and any perceived violation of our coaching agreement
Provide feedback to the client regarding progress being made, perceived violation of this agreement, blind spots, or other matters that may enable or inhibit the success of the coaching relationship
Make referrals to other professional resources, as appropriate.
If I believe that there is possibility of physical harm to the client or others, I will report that immediately to the appropriate person or agency that can offer assistance.

AS THE CLIENT, I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT:

My coach will support me in observing and being in a new way, will challenge me to think and act in alignment with my beliefs and values, and will assist me in reaching the goals that I determine
I will be open to learning about myself and the reality I want to create I will be honest about my challenges and what I truly want
I will prepare for my coaching session either in thoughts or actions. I will reflect on and take the promised action toward my goals between sessions and be accountable for actions not taken.
I will generate my own solutions
I will assertively express my needs and speak up if coaching sessions do not work for me » I am fully responsible for my physical, mental and emotional well-being during my coaching calls, including my choices and decisions
I (we) will complete our coaching sessions within three (3) months of our first scheduled coaching session or we may forfeit our remaining sessions due to a lack of availability.
Coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve all areas of my life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education and recreation. I acknowledge that deciding how to handle these issues, incorporate coaching into those areas, and implement my choices is exclusively my responsibility.
Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. Coaching is not to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical, financial, business, spiritual or other qualified professionals.
Information will be held as confidential unless I state otherwise, in writing, except as required by law
